The Connection between Physical Health and Mental Well-beingFeb 21, 2023
One of the most important things that we need to learn is how critical it is to look after our physical health. When we are out of physical balance, we can feel out of touch with reality, always thinking about what's next for the day, dinner on the table, laundry to wash, and so on. This can have a range of negative effects that we may not even be aware of.
For example, we may experience feelings of jealousy towards people we know, insecurities may pop up, or we may develop eating disorders. We may feel like we don't belong anywhere, and feel lonely and disconnected from others. We may focus on the negative or past wrongs, feel mistrust of people, or develop addictions to the wrong things. We may feel disorganized like we have too much on our minds, or like our to-do list just isn't getting any shorter. Maybe we eat mindlessly, or comfort eat on the couch while watching TV. Perhaps our anxiety takes over, and we struggle to maintain calm thoughts.
